Spouse’s / Civil Partner's GMP (Guaranteed Minimum Pension)
As the LGPS was contracted out of the State Earnings Related Pension Scheme (SERPS), if the person who you were married to or with whom you had entered into a civil partnership was a member of the LGPS between 6 April 1978 and 5 April 1997 the LGPS must pay you a minimum amount of pension.
